Theressa’s journey began on January 1, 1990, in Georgetown, Guyana. Though her beginnings were humble, a fire for education ignited within her at the tender age of three. The belief that knowledge was the key to unlocking her own potential propelled her to become the first in her family to hold a degree, and later, a master’s.

Driven by a deep sense of community, she wore many hats as a dedicated youth volunteer, a vibrant actor and cultural ambassador, and a courageous police officer. It was during her service in the Guyana Police Force that she discovered a profound truth: the greatest reward lay not in receiving, but in giving.

In the United States, Theressa’s light continued to shine, and, in December 2021, she joined Dress for Success.

Her generous spirit extends to her church pantry, where she volunteers, and to the shelter she once called home, where she acts as a self-appointed advocate and legal advisor. Theressa’s life is a tapestry woven with threads of service, strength, and unwavering resilience.
