Michelle Ryan is a senior marketing executive with extensive experience across mass, prestige, and e-commerce beauty. She has spent the past 25 years leading global beauty brands, developing successful skincare, haircare, and hair color products, and creating consumer insight-driven marketing campaigns for women of all ages. Currently she is Head of Marketing and Brand Development for both the Zotos Professional and PRAVANA brands of Henkel North America. In this role, she re-launched the entire Zotos Professional brand portfolio and led the development of a new digital campaign for AGEbeautiful, Zotos Professional’s largest brand. The campaign focuses on empowering women of all ages to Color Vibrantly, Live Boldly, and Age Beautifully. The cornerstone of the campaign is the partnership with Dress For Success, whose mission is to empower underemployed women to achieve economic independence. This mission closely aligns and resonates with the AGEbeautiful consumer.
Prior to working for Henkel, Michelle was CEO of MRM Bespoke Beauty Marketing, a boutique consultancy that helped entrepreneurial beauty brands transform their ideas into thriving businesses. She developed and launched Better Natured, a line of natural hair color and haircare products, now being expanded into brick-and-mortar retailers in the US. Throughout her career, she held senior roles in global CPG companies such as L’Oréal, Garnier, Matrix, and Clairol. Her career highlights include relaunching and repositioning the entire Zotos Professional brand portfolio, launching the first BB cream in the US mass market, creating a profitable franchise around dark spot corrector skincare products, launching the first personalized cleansing line in the mass market and creating award winning campaigns for brands like Clairol, Garnier, Biolage, and Dark and Lovely. She holds a BA in Journalism from Temple University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. She is married to her husband of 22 years, Greg Ryan, a fellow University of Michigan alum. They have two teenage daughters, Camille, and Zoe, and one adorable puppy named Gretta.
