Melony J. Butler, CEO of Dress for Success Cleveland, is a native Clevelander who transitioned from the corporate world to the not-for-profit sector to find purpose and to fulfill her passion.

Melony came to Dress for Success Cleveland in 1999 as a client, where she found exactly what she needed to motivate and inspire significant change in both her professional and personal lifestyles. In addition, she was one of 50 women invited to take part in the pilot program of Professional Women’s Group, an employment retention program of Dress for Success.

Butler began her career with Dress for Success Cleveland in July 2000 taking on the role of Office Manager. She would later be promoted to Agency Client Relations Manager and Manager of Workforce Development programs. She assumed her role as Executive Director in December 2010 and in 2021 Butler was named the CEO of Dress for Success Cleveland.

Most recently Butler’s efforts as a not-for-profit affiliate leader were recognized in 2023 by the Cleveland Cavs receiving their 2022-23 Community DIFF Maker award. In 2024, Butler, joins the Board of Directors of Dress for Success Worldwide as an affiliate board representative.

Butler resides in Cleveland, OH with her husband Sonny; has two bonus daughters from her marriage and currently enjoys four grandchildren. Butler enjoys attending plays and dancing.
