Dress for Success Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania, US)

I’m excited to join the Women Who Inspire Campaign Selection Committee to amplify the voices of underrepresented women and ensure their invaluable contributions receive the recognition they deserve, inspiring future generations to break barriers and thrive.

Eryka is an educator from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania--currently working as academic advisor and part-time professor at the University of Pittsburgh. Eryka is dedicated to helping her students achieve their goals through education. Outside of academia, Eryka volunteers to help the LGBTQIA community by delivering food to the queer and HIV+.

She is the mother of three beautiful children.

Eryka became involved with her regional Dress for Success when she began a position as her authentic self, in June 2022. While she had been living openly as a transgender woman, most of her work at this point had been online. This new position required her to interact with the public as well as the staff she oversaw at a local community college. Her task there was to administer a grant provided by the state to help address the educational and mental health needs of those significantly affected by gun violence. Thanks to Dress for Success Pittsburgh, she was able to begin this role with not only a beautiful wardrobe but also the internal fortitude and knowledge that she could and would succeed.
