Keri & Yara Shahidi

Yara Shahidi is an award-winning actress, producer, change agent, and breakout star of ABC’s Emmy and Golden Globe nominated series “black-ish.” In 2019, she launched 7th Sun Productions alongside her business partner and mother, Keri Shahidi. In 2022, Shahidi graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Social Studies and African American Studies, with a concentration in Black Political Thought Under a Neocolonial Landscape.

Shahidi is an executive producer and star of Freeform’s series, “Grown-ish.” She further executive produced and starred in Amazon Studios’ film, “Sitting in Bars with Cake.”

Offscreen, Yara Shahidi is a champion for inclusive media programming, and an advocate for equity. She founded WeVoteNext, a platform focused on empowering young people to get involved in the political process.

Keri Shahidi is a Midwesterner turned Angeleno, co-founder of 7th Sun Productions. A lifelong entrepreneur, wife, and mother to three inspired humans, she is an educator, with a Master’s in International Business. Focusing on creating opportunities for her family and community at large, Keri continuously creates spaces steeped in purpose-driven living. Yara and Keri continue to co-create and produce ideas that are inspired to connect global communities, such as: Freeform’s The Clock Is Ticking voting initiative; Meta 1-on-1 Conversations; Facebook’s Yara’s Day Off; Cartier’s Women’s Perspectives Podcast, Season 2 and more.
