Tameka Edwards
I’m so excited to be part of the Women Who Inspire Campaign because it’s all about celebrating real stories and authentic connections. It’s an incredible opportunity to uplift and empower one another while making a meaningful impact together.
Tameka came to Dress for Success Cleveland 10 years ago when she was first entering work and needed assistance with getting suitable attire. She recently came back to Dress for Success Cleveland in August 2024 upon receiving a promotion from sports coach to teacher and was told by the assistant principal that she needed to dress more professionally.
In addition, as a new teacher to a younger audience, Tameka wanted to ensure she had the best tools to communicate effectively and, in her words, “help shape the lives of our future.” Dress for Success Cleveland was able to provide both with an E-Learning tool and work clothing through our Career Center. Tameka also spoke at the affiliate’s signature event, Walk With Women, on Oct. 10 to talk about her journey.
A caretaker and dedicated mother, Tameka has been involved with Dress for Success for 10 years.
