Seema Nirwal
There is nothing more fulfilling and rewarding than knowing that my journey could influence, inspire & impact at least one life. I am super excited and honored to engage in the Women Who Inspire 2025 campaign!
As the daughter of a retired Indian diplomat, Seema had lived and studied across various countries. With over 15 years in online product development and project management, she relocated to Singapore in 2003 and assumed a senior management role by 2008. However, in 2014, a cancer diagnosis forced her to take on a less stressful role.
After being retrenched in 2018 with the Singapore office closure, she took a one-year break from full-time employment to refocus on her health and family. She then started part-time consultancy work and volunteered at a Parents Support Group at her daughter’s school.
Seeking full-time employment subsequently proved challenging, despite her extensive experience. It was during this period that she discovered Dress for Success Singapore’s transformative programs, which rekindled her self-confidence and provided invaluable guidance. From resume prep and interview skills workshops to personalized one-to-one career coaching, Dress for Success Singapore’s support was instrumental in her journey toward confidence and economic independence. In February 2024, she embraced a full-time opportunity as Employment Outreach and Program Development Manager at Dress for Success Singapore, aligning with her passion to make a positive impact on disadvantaged women, drawing from her own experiences of unemployment and health challenges.
Seema was a client who was always very self-motivated and takes full advantage of the support from Dress for Success Singapore. She was never afraid to ask for help when she needed it and offer help when Dress for Success Singapore needed it. She never let her health hinder her and continued working by taking on a less stressful position.
She has been with Dress for Success Singapore since February 2024 and is doing a fabulous job! Her rapport with clients is great. This is possible due to her past as a client herself, so she shares empathy for their needs. Seema also manages our volunteers, and her attention to detail and management skills make her an indispensable asset to Dress for Success Singapore.
