Dress for Success San Antonio (Texas, US)

Presented by: Ann Taylor

I believe that sharing my journey can help others see they’re not alone in their struggles. I’ve faced challenges too but overcoming them has shown me that growth and success are possible. If my story can inspire someone to keep going or pursue their dreams, then it’s worth it. We all have the power to reach our potential.

Jubilee Peña, a native of San Antonio’s west side and proud Edgewood ISD alum, has overcome significant challenges to achieve academic and personal success. Jubilee credits her special education teacher, Mrs. Hemphill, for her support in school, especially as Jubilee faced bullying for her academic struggles. With dedication, she excelled eventually in leaving special education, becoming an honor student, and graduating in the top five of her high school class. Jubilee earned her associate’s degree with honors through an early college program before graduating high school.

Outside academics, Jubilee has been involved in community service and leadership, interning with Girls Inc., CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital, and P.A.M. Outreach, where she developed professional and public speaking skills.

Jubilee engaged with Dress for Success two years ago, participating in career workshops and the suiting program, and she is now an ambassador of Dress for Success San Antonio.

She regularly volunteers with Family Youth Services and has received the Cheryl Coleman Award twice for her commitment to community service. Jubilee is also a media team member at her church. Currently studying at Texas A&M-San Antonio, she aims to complete her bachelor’s degree by May 2025. Jubilee is passionate about advocating for Edgewood ISD and giving back to her community.
